Stone Brewing Co. takes over taps at Hangar 9

The long-awaited arrival of Stone Brewing Company's acclaimed beers to southern Illinois will be marked by a tap takeover at Hangar 9 on Monday, October 29th beginning when the Hangar 9 opens at 3pm.

The Hangar 9 has secured ten ... count 'em, ten ... Stone beers for the event. A couple of these beers will be exclusive pours for the event (marked with a red asterisk below), meaning you won't be able to get them anywhere else. I'm thinking this warrants marking your calendars, folks.

Here are the beers that will be featured for your imbibing pleasure:

  • Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale w/ Espresso Beans
  • Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale
  • Arrogant Bastard Ale
  • Stone Ruination IPA
  • Stone IPA
  • Stone 16th Anniversary IPA w/ Green Tea Leaves
  • Stone Smoked Porter
  • Stone Levitation Ale
  • Stone Suitable for Cage-Aging aged in Bourbon Barrels*
  • Stone 14th Anniversary Emperial IPA*

I am so excited about having Stone on tap that I keep forgetting it will be in the stores now. Sounds too good to be true. Are any other noteworthy breweries entering our market any time soon?

  2. As a matter of fact, there are. Neither are as "high-profile" as Stone, but both Southampton and Deschutes will be entering the local market soon. It's good times for good beer!
